Thank you for your support for ‘In Fact’

A huge end-of-year "thank you" to everyone who bought a copy of my book In Fact: An Optimist’s Guide to Ireland at 100 and to those who helped to promote it. The first print run is nearly entirely sold out, so there will be a reprint in the new year for those of you who have yet to lay your hands on a copy.

It has been a deeply rewarding experience to have had the opportunity to spread the good word about Ireland’s positive progress.

I had the opportunity to share this with hundreds of thousands of listeners through Joe Duffy’s Liveline show on RTE Radio One, with Matt Cooper on Today FM, with Pat Kenny on Newstalk and on Newstalk’s breakfast show with Shane Coleman and Ciara Kelly, as well as Kieran Cuddihy’s Hard Shoulder. I also had the chance to talk to viewers of Ireland AM with Muireann O'Connell and Tommy Bowe.

There was great coverage of the book by Niamh Horan in the Sunday Independent, by Stephen Collins in The Irish Times, on IrishCentral.com, and many other online and offline publications. I also authored pieces for The Journal.ie, the Irish Independent magazine, and the Institute of Directors.

I completed webinars and podcasts with Project Optimism and The Centre for Optimism, That Great Business Show, The Little Museum of Dublin, and the Marketing Institute of Ireland. And I had the opportunity to join the Dublin Book Festival line up with Professor Luke O’Neill.

But it has been the positive reaction to the book itself that has been most gratifying. It was selected as a ‘book of the year’ by Minister for Finance Paschal Donohoe and was a recommended Christmas purchase for The Irish Times, The Irish Catholic, and Matt Cooper in the Sunday Business Post.

Wow – what a 2021 it has been! I look forward to continuing to spread factual optimism in the year ahead. May I wish all my readers a wonderful and personally fulfilling 2022.
